The Appian Team is developing this 114,000 sf, $60 million laboratory for the Virginia Department of Forensic Sciences.

The Appian Team is performing development services for the Virginia Department of Forensic Sciences for this 114,000 sf, $60 million facility. The facility will contain state of the art laboratories including Forensic Biology, Trace Evidence, Latent Prints, Toxicology, and Firearms laboratories. A separate wing of the facility will house the Office of Chief Medical Examiner and will contain Autopsy suites and Morgue. The facility is critical to serve the growing Northern Virginia area and criminology community. The Appian team procured the project through the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Public Private Education Act (PPEA) procurement process. The Appian team, along with our partner, Scheer Partners Management, Inc., submitted an unsolicited proposal to the Commonwealth to develop the facility. The project will deliver in 3rd quarter of 2009.
